The DAV Section on International Business Law (ARGE IWR) brings together lawyers who have specialised in or are interested in international business law. It was founded in 1989 and currently has over 500 members in over 20 European and non-European countries.
The ARGE IWR serves to promote both intellectual and economic interests and is a forum to discuss international issues regarding professional regulation. In particular, important international and national contacts are established here. The events offered by the section in Germany and abroad represent an excellent opportunity for the exchange of information and experience on an international level. The focus is, for example, on EU law, international business law and aspects of professional law.
The events are generally held in cooperation with international or national lawyers' associations such as the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA), the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA) and the Association Française des Conseils d'Éntreprises (ACE), as well as with other organisations such as the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation. The central event of the AG IWR is the annual "International Business Law Day" (IWRT).
Six times a year, the “Zeitschrift für Internationales Wirtschaftsrecht” (IWRZ), a journal for international business law, published by the ARGE IWR, provides essays, reviews of judgments, practical advice and much more on all topics that may be of interest to internationally active lawyers. With the included online module IWRZDirekt subscribers also have access to the electronic edition with a convenient search function.
